Heart Institute

The Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado offers state-of-the-art facilities for testing, diagnosing and treating little hearts. All of our cardiac facilities are located on the third floor of the main hospital. Depending on which area of the Heart Institute your child is visiting, there are two main ways to access the facilities. Upon entering the hospital, after you’ve gotten your visitor’s badge at the Welcome Desk, our check-in staff will help guide you to where you need to go for your child’s cardiac care.

Services in the Heart Institute

The Heart Institute is a collaboration of departments and services including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Intensive Care and Cardiac Research. Because no two heart problems are the same, we offer many specialized heart programs for children from birth to young adulthood, including the largest pediatric heart transplant program in the region and one of the nation’s top programs for pulmonary hypertension. Our programs are lead by a team of nationally and internationally recognized, board-certified providers who work to deliver the highest level of pediatric cardiac care possible.

Heart Institute Facilities

The Heart Institute at Children’s Colorado is made up of state-of-the-art facilities and technologies that help provide the best care possible to children with heart conditions. The labs, clinics, units and operating rooms of the Heart Institute allow our staff to test, diagnose, treat and monitor little hearts using a multidisciplinary approach. For instance, our Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cardiac Operating Room can be in the set up in same space at the same time for procedures that require both surgical and catheterization services simultaneously.
